Principles
From TheInvariantGardener
- All ideas have to pass through a coselection process that will lead to the survival of the fittest.
- Thus, let's make clear that criticism is always good (as far as ideas are concerned).
- Heraclites said : "war is the father of all, and the king of all", and there are many reasons to think that he was right.
- Thus, harsh criticism is good too, as far as it is sound and fair.
- Ad hominen criticism in not allowed
- Therefore, even patent egotism, hubris or megalomania are not sufficient reasons to discard any single idea.
- Anyone is welcomed to believe in (the truthfulness of) her/his ideas.
- Enthousiasm is usually more productive than despair or doubt.
- So anyone is invited to contribute enthousiastically with awareness that it is good to leave to others some opportunities to criticize our proposal.
- In other words, our necessary self-criticism should not be animated by a desire for perfection since this could lead to inhibition and self-sterilization.
- So, go ahead and let others help you have a clearer view of what you think.
